1900-1909

1900
Colorado Telephone Company started linking Glenwood Springs to Aspen and installed wall telephones within the city.

1901, February 16
Vice President Theodore Roosevelt visits Glenwood Springs following a hunting trip. He enjoys the vapor caves and attends a dinner party at the Hotel Glenwood before departing on the Colorado Midland Train for Colorado Springs.

1902
An improved road through Glenwood Canyon was completed with funding secured by State Senator Edward T. Taylor of Glenwood Springs.

1903
Local cowboy and horse trainer, Rich Thomson, was awarded "The World's Champion Bronco Buster".

1903, April 7
  Prohibitionist, Carry Nation, visits Glenwood Springs and  delivers a speech on the evils of alcohol and smoking.

 1904
 The red sandstone Denver and Rio Grande train depot on 7th Street opened.

1905, Apr. 15
President Theodore Roosevelt's bear hunt began on Divide Creek. The Hotel Colorado became the "Little White House of the West".

1907
The White River National Forest was formed.

1908
Dr. W. F. Berry built the Glenwood Sanitarium at the corner of 10th and Bennett.

1908
State Senator Edward T. Taylor was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.

1909
The Shoshone hydroelectric plant was completed in Glenwood Canyon.
