Vintage Base Ball
 

1860's Base Ball! See The Glenwood Sluggers vs. The Yampah Stars.  Match will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the field between the high school and the Roaring Fork river. Follow the signs from 14th and Grand. See base ball played by the 1860's rules in vintage costumes. Bring a blanket, a picnic dinner and enjoy Vintage Base Ball with the whole family!

Free and Open to the Public!

Three men dead, three wounded!  A misdemeanor arrest gone wrong; yet one hundred twenty-seven years later we're still talking about it?  What really happened in that vacant lot between the Harwood House and Cornelius Fly's Boarding House and Photography Studio just across the alley from the OK Corral?

All performances at 7:00 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts at 601 Sixth Street in Glenwood Springs.

Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $9.00 for children aged 6-12.  Not recommended for children under 6 years old.  Warning:  Some mature language used.

Guided Tours of Linwood Pioneer Cemetery

Explore Glenwood's Oldest Cemetery and the final resting place of Doc Holliday with a guide from the Frontier Historical Society.  Hear the stories of Glenwood's pioneers and infamous residents.

Tours Leave Promptly, So Don't Be Late!

Meet at the trailhead to Linwood (Pioneer) Cemetery at 12th and Bennett where tour guides lead you up to and through Glenwood's oldest cemetery. You may meet "Doc" Holliday as well as many other Glenwood Springs pioneers and hear their stories. Different performers each weekend. Tickets are $15 per person and go on sale October 1st 2008. Tickets available in person at the Frontier Historical Museum or Through the Looking Glass bookstore, both in Glenwood Springs. Tickets also available for purchase with Visa or MasterCard by calling the museum (970) 945-4448.  Bring a flashlight or lantern and dress appropriately for the weather. Kerosene lanterns are also available for purchase at the trailhead for $10. Be advised that the hike to the cemetery is moderately strenuous.

Clean-up Day at Linwood Cemetery
as part of Colorado
Archaeology and Historic Preservation Month

Join the Frontier Historical Society for a day of clean up at Linwood Cemetery.   Linwood (Pioneer) Cemetery is the final resting place of John H. "Doc" Holliday and the trailhead to the cemetery is located at 12th Street and Bennett Avenue in Glenwood Springs.  Meet at the trailhead at 10:00 a.m.  Lunch will be provided.  Bring work gloves, sunscreen, insect repellent and gardening tools. Help us ready the cemetery for Memorial Day and the busy summer tourist season.
